At our 18th June performance of ‘Let’s face the musicals – and dance’, the Gropup was presented, with a cheque for £688 from the Buckinghamshire Community Foundation to fund their update of lighting control equipment. The award reflects the group’s active role in affordable drama training for under 16s – the Player’s Junior section has now been operating for over 20 years and many of the current adult members started as Juniors!

The cheque was presented by Bill Reid (centre), a trustee of Buckinghamshire Community Foundation, to the Players’ Secretary, Sam Edgley (left) and Junior lighting engineer Toby Buckle (right). Bill Reid told the audience that he had thoroughly enjoyed the show and encouraged other local groups to apply for grants for similar projects.
Buckinghamshire Community Foundation provides support and funding at grassroots level in Buckinghamshire to small groups and organisations that need such help. Since January 2000 we have helped over 800 projects and given over £2.6 million in grants. The Foundation has over 200 Friends, Corporate Friends and Patrons who enable us to have a Grants team that's out and about in touch with local communities.
